PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Inspects, examines or credits simple accounts according to departmental procedures for accuracy and conformance;
2. Maintains register of records according to standard District procedure; posts transactions or entries for the balancing of accounts;
3. Operates computer keyboard to update data;
4. Balances accounts and reconciles totals against individual account;
5. May prepare and type a variety of applicable forms;
6. Maintains related files on individual accounts;
7. Performs related work as required.
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Must have passed the competitive civil service examination and be one of the top three eligibles on a valid county civil service list (part-time position excluded);
2. Must have knowledge of modern methods of maintaining and reconciling accounts and records;
3. Must have knowledge of office terminology, procedures, word processors and computers;
4. Must have appropriate skills in business arithmetic; English;
5. Must have ability to make arithmetic computations rapidly and accurately;
6. Must have ability to type at a satisfactory rate of speed;
7. Must have ability to understand and follow detailed oral and written instructions;
8. Must possess a high degree of accuracy, resourcefulness, and dependability;
9. Must be in physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
