Job Description

Special Class Teacher  (Life Skills Middle School)

Special education teacher needed for special education life skills program at the middle school.  Knowledge and ability to implement a functional life skills-based curriculum using strategies to address the needs of diverse learners. Knowledge of and ability to implement a functional reading curriculum. Must also have knowledge of and ability to implement positive and effective classroom management strategies. Knowledge of NYSAA. Ability to work and collaborate with people as part of a multidisciplinary team. Must possess New York State Certification: Students with Disabilities 1-6 and 7-12

Per diem	$150 certified/$130 non-certified
Consecutive (same assignment) Days 1-25	$150 certified/$130 non-certified
Consecutive (same assignment) Days 26+	Non-certified - $150
Consecutive (same assignment) Days 26+	(Certified) Bachelor's – $200
Consecutive (same assignment) Days 26+	(Certified) Master's – $233
Teaching Assistant-to-Teacher	Daily rate/Step 1 daily/Bachelor's or Master’s differential
Preferred substitutes	$170 per diem
Retired Frontier Teachers	$170 per diem
Home Instruction (FCTA/*FCASA)	$43.89 per hour
Home Instruction (non-FCTA)	$30.00 per hour
