QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must possess knowledge of acceptable procedures and practices of grounds maintenance work.
2. Must possess ability to organize work for self and to work with others.
3. Must be willing to perform routine and manual work.
4. Must have physical endurance and be in good physical condition.
5. Must possess valid New York State CDL Class B license.
6. Must possess valid Pesticide Application License.
7. Must have completed at least an elementary education and have one year of satisfactory experience in grounds maintenance work or must have any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training sufficient to indicate ability to do the work required.

Grounds Crew Chief
JOB GOAL: The work of a groundsworker involves performing manual tasks having to do with grounds maintenance and the general upkeep of school facilities outdoors. The individual will be responsible for the satisfactory completion of a variety of grounds and landscaping tasks and the operation of common grounds equipment. Additional training will be provided when “specialty” equipment is to be used. Many assignments are of a repetitive nature. Once training has been provided, it is expected that tasks will be performed without difficulty and direct supervision. The person holding this position will be required to work flexible hours per district needs; work hours and/or days may change. The person holding this position will do related work as required to fill schedule.
