JOB GOAL:              To assist in the supervision and management of students in the school lunch line and dining areas.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assists students through the cafeteria serving line and to direct them to their proper seats (elementary level);
  2. Keep the lunch line orderly;
  3. Encourage students to eat and behave in a quiet, orderly manner;
  4. Reports to the appropriate teacher or administrator any serious disturbance that cannot be corrected by the monitor;
  5. Encourages students to bus their own trays and keep their eating area clean;
  6. Assists in returning trays and cleaning areas where students have neglected or forgotten to do so;
  7. Reports breakage, spillage, etc., to the Custodian as soon as possible;
  8. Reports any unsafe or unsatisfactory conditions to the Head Cook as soon as possible;
  9. Performs related tasks as assigned by the Building Principal.

QUALIFICATIONS:             

       1.    Must have completed a minimum of eight grades of education. 

  1. Must possess a valid New York State Class B License.
  2. Must have knowledge of and experience in the operation of trucks, fork lift and other types of motorized equipment, including snow plows and lawn-mowing equipment.
  3. Must have the ability to understand and carry out simple oral and written instructions.
  4. Must possess mechanical aptitude.
  5. Must possess a positive attitude, good communication skills, and sense of cooperation and flexibility in dealing with people.
  6. Must be in physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.

REPORTS TO:                      School Lunch Manager and/or Superintendent’s designee

JOB GOAL:                          To perform recurring manual duties related to the operation of motorized equipment and to the loading, unloading and delivery of equipment and supplies, and to assist in the grounds maintenance when assigned.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Operates motorized equipment (as noted above) in the performance of assigned tasks including the hauling and delivery of equipment, supplies, and other materials as needed.
  2. Performs service and minor mechanical repairs on motorized equipment.
  3. Services assigned vehicle and maintains it in clean condition.
  4. Loads and unloads trucks.
  5. Performs a variety of simple manual tasks, including cleaning jobs.
  6. Must be willing and available to work flexible schedule.
  7.  Performs building Laborer activities as assigned.
  8.  Maintains building security.
  9. Works collaboratively with the Motor Equipment Operator in Facilities. 
  10. Assumes related duties in grounds maintenance as needed.     
  11. Performs related work as required.
