PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists in the development of transportation routes for district students, including students with disabilities to district schools and non-district schools.
2. Assists in the assignment of bus operators to specific routes.
3. Assists in directing or arranging transportation for field trips, sports activities, or other extra-curricular activities.
4. Assists in training and evaluating the performance of new employees.
5. Is responsible for two-way radio communications.
6. Assists drivers with on-road problems, relays vehicle breakdowns to mechanical staff, contacts police agencies for support at breakdown and accident locations.
7. Assists in evaluating the performance of permanently appointed employees.
8. Answers telephone calls, takes messages, addresses problems, and relays information to supervisor and others as appropriate.
9. Assists in driver check-in for AM and PM runs.
10 Assures that all daily activities are properly assigned and covered; calls substitutes as necessary.
11. Drives bus whenever necessary.
12. Assists in the development and administration of the Transportation Department budget.
13. Assists in maintaining good employee relations.
14. Performs related work as required.
