PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 1.  Uses equipment properly in regard to safety of all persons and other vehicles       at all times and in all places.

  2. Insures that your vehicle is roadworthy before each trip.

  3. Is responsible for the safety, health and welfare of your passengers.

  4.  Constantly re-evaluates driving techniques to upgrade your ability to cope with the constantly changing driving environment.

  5. Reports emergency procedures taken to parent and transportation office.

 6.  Reports behavior problems on forms provided to principal and transportation office.      

 7. Reports mechanical defects on daily report sheets in the morning and afternoon.

  8. Is responsible for the transfer and receiving of children.

  9.  Keeps bus clean and is sure bus is equipped with full first aid kit, etc.

10. Instructs or informs children about safety practices when entering and leaving bus.

11.  If unable to care for student in emergency situation, know where first aid, police stations, telephone and nearest hospitals are located.

12. Meets time schedules as required.

13. Keeps informed about any special handicaps of student passengers.

14.  Maintains orderly conduct of children on bus.

15. Performs related work as required, (i.e. fueling, snow removal from bus lights and windows, bus washing) and other duties as directed.

JOB GOAL:                 To perform a wide variety of skilled maintenance and repair   tasks on all types of automotive equipment (especially buses), to insure the efficient and smooth operation of the school’s Transportation Department.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Repairs and removes gasoline (or diesel) internal combustion engines, including the fitting of crankshafts, pistons, pins and bearings.
  2. Removes and overhauls transmission and differentials.
  3. Maintains and repairs fuel, cooling and exhaust systems.
  4. Inspects, maintains and repairs electrical systems, chassis units, air brake systems and accessories.
  5. Operates valve-grinder, drill press, lathe, welding and burning equipment and other related tools.
  6. Repairs or assists in the repair of snow plows, road rollers, mowers, pumps, trucks, sewage operational equipment.
  7. Assists with emergency snow removal.
  8. Operates motorized equipment.
  9. Performs manual laboring tasks connected with highway construction and maintenance operation.
  10. Wears proper work clothing as specified by supervisor.
  11. Operates/drives a school bus and transports children as required.
  12. Prepare vehicles for Department of Transportation (DOT) inspections.
  13. Performs related work as needed.
