Middle School Schedule: 10 months, 3.5 hrs/day, 9:45 am-1:15 pm 

 

JOB GOAL:  To assist in the supervision and management of students in the school lunch line and dining areas.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assists students through the cafeteria serving line and to direct them to their proper seats (elementary level);
  2. Keep the lunch line orderly;
  3. Encourage students to eat and behave in a quiet, orderly manner;
  4. Reports to the appropriate teacher or administrator any serious disturbance that cannot be corrected by the monitor;
  5. Encourages students to carry their own trays and keep their eating area clean;
  6. Assists in returning trays and cleaning areas where students have neglected or forgotten to do so;
  7. Reports breakage, spillage, etc., to the Custodian as soon as possible;
  8. Report any unsafe or unsatisfactory conditions to the Head Cook as soon as possible;
  9. Performs related tasks as assigned by the Building Principal.

Knowledge of and ability to implement classroom management strategies to address the needs of diverse learners; Knowledge of and ability to implement research-based instructional practices and strategies aligned with the NYS Standards across the content areas; Experience utilizing formative assessments to inform instructional decision-making; Ability to implement behavioral and positive effective classroom management strategies and effectively managing student behavior. Capacity to utilize technology to enhance practice; Must demonstrate an understanding of the cognitive processes of primary and intermediate readers; Willingness to work with special education students in an inclusion classroom, as well as ENL students; Must possess New York State Certification for subject/grade level identified.

Elementary:  Experience with state testing; Experience with master scheduling; Experience with counseling interventions; Experience with group and individual counseling; Experience with at-risk students and families; Knowledge of graduation requirements. Assignment: Provide guidance to the Alternative Education students and Intervention program only.  Other students may be assigned by the building principal.  Must possess certification for this tenure area of School Counseling & Guidance.  

Secondary:  

Experience with state testing; Experience with master scheduling; Experience with counseling interventions; Experience with group and individual counseling; Experience with at-risk students and families; Knowledge of graduation requirements.

  • Experience managing all aspects of a school’s Advanced Placement (AP) program, including serving as the primary liaison to the College Board; overseeing exam ordering, registration, fee collection, secure administration, proctor training, and compliance with all exam security protocols.
  • Provide comprehensive counseling and support for students in Alternative Education, Out-of-District placements, and intervention programs, including academic planning, progress monitoring, and coordination with families and external agencies.

Job Description: 12 month-8 hours- 2:00pm-10:00pm

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1.   Cleans and services building(s) by sweeping and mopping offices, halls, stairways and entrances.

2.   Waxes and buffs floors with mechanical equipment.

3.   Oils, lubricates or greases motors such as those found in the mechanical room and   elevators.

4.   Cleans lighting fixtures, replaces light bulbs, washes windows, washes walls, moves furniture and equipment.

5.   Assists with outside work such as sweeping walks, shoveling snow, cutting lawns and trimming hedges.

6.   Loads/unloads trucks and checks shipments.

7.   Act as messenger as necessary.

8.   Cleans and repairs minor maintenance on trucks and tools.

  4. Operates the cash register;
  5. Cleans up the kitchen, serving areas and mops floors;
  6. Assists with other food service activities required for the operation of the School Lunch Program;
  7. From time to time, performs special duties assigned by the cook;
  8. Some days, performs the job of someone who is absent;
  9. Works cooperatively with the cook and others on any job assigned following directions from the cook;
  10. Is friendly and cordial to students, teachers and staff at all times;
